getting started with a digital planner

first thing you will need is an iPad

to get started with a digital planner you will need an iPad

you can start with anything as small as an iPad mini that is refurbished to start getting a feel for the process

once you begin to fall into flow with the process you’ll know when to buy that big new screen

for me personally, the most important component of the iPad was that it connected to the internet without wifi; ie it has cellular data so I can plan anytime anyplace without the frustration of hot spotting

next is a pencil

writing with the stylus is a huge component of using the digital planner or journal of any kind

the action of writing with your hands has a lot to do with how you connect to your planning internally

you want to be sure that you have the highest quality pencil possible, but if you’re on a budget you can still find a quality generic

pdf editor app \ notability

after trying out a lot of free and paid for apps I could not seem to figure out the functionality of any other app

notability is quick, easy, simple, and uses icons of that like microsoft word for a quick visual representation of common tools without any deep learning about the program

you can use this program on the computer to rapidly copy, paste, shift around and reorder pages

and then do the tiny tweaks by using the side bar from the iPad

the best pencil is the OG apple pencil 1

its under $100 but still a joke if you’re on a budget

the best on a budget is literally ten bucks

keep your eyes peeled on reviews when buying products like this because most of the time they are fine but if you get one bad link you’ll be returning and rebuying

if you buy a cellular capable iPad from Amazon you can set up your service with Verizon or any other phone service provider

the quickest cheapest of all time is to go for a refurbished mini

an ipad 9th, 10th, or 11th generation are also cheap to get refirbushed with a solid amount of cases and accessories still made to fit
